What you’ll do
Gamla Stan, or Old Town, is the medieval heart of Stockholm, dating back to 1252 on the island of Stadsholmen.
Stockholm Palace, or the Royal Palace, is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch. Stockholm Palace is in Stadsholmen, in Gamla stan in the capital, Stockholm. It neighbours the Riksdag building.
The Riksdag is the parliament and the supreme decision-making body of the Kingdom of Sweden. Since 1971, the Riksdag has been a unicameral parliament with 349 members, elected proportionally and serving, since 1994, fixed four-year terms. The 2026 Swedish general election is the most recent general election.
Djurgården Park is part of the Grand Royal Urban National Park on the island of the same name. It is a wooded and very natural space. It is also home to tourist sites and museums.
