Who we are

Born in Paris, built around one idea

Most visitors to Paris spend hours in ticket queues, shuffle through museums with an audio guide, and leave having seen everything but understood very little. We started Uncle Sam Tours to change that.

Our idea is simple: pre-book the entry, keep the group small, and put a passionate, licensed guide in front of you who turns stone and paint into stories. When you stand in front of the Mona Lisa or under the Eiffel Tower, you should know why it matters.

Thousands of reviews later, travellers still write about our guides by name, like Lady E and Mo. That is the part of our work we are proudest of.

What we do

Four promises on every tour

Group or private, Paris or Rome, these are the things you can count on.

  • Tickets already booked

We reserve timed entry for every guest, so you skip the ticket queue and go in through the group entrance.

  • A real guide, never an audio guide

You get a conversation, not a recording, with a guide who speaks fluent English and loves the place.

  • Small groups

No mega-buses. Groups range from 6 to 20 guests depending on the site, so you can always hear the guide and ask questions.

  • Licensed professionals

Our guides hold official professional cards and are authorised to lead groups inside every major monument and museum.

Our journey

From one city to five

  1. Travellers gathered at Trocadéro in front of the Eiffel Tower

    01

    Paris

It started with the big three

Our first tours were the ones every visitor dreams of: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre-Dame. We learned quickly that what travellers lose most is time, so we built every tour around reserved entry and a guide who meets you at the monument.

  2. Visitors crossing the courtyard of the Palace of Versailles

    02

    Versailles

    A day at the palace

Guests kept asking how to see Versailles without losing a day to queues and trains. So we added guided visits of the palace, the Hall of Mirrors and the gardens, including a skip-the-line tour that leaves from Paris.

  3. Florence and Brunelleschi’s dome at sunrise

    03

    Rome & Florence

    Into Italy

The same promise travelled south: the Colosseum's arena floor, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, Michelangelo's David at the Accademia, the Uffizi, and a day trip to Tivoli's villas.

  4. The Sagrada Família rising above Barcelona at golden hour

    04

    Barcelona

    And still growing

Our newest city is Barcelona. Wherever we go next, the rules stay the same: small groups, reserved entry and a guide you will remember by name.
